Teaching
~Lecturer, MA in Library and Information Studies, UCL ~
~ PGCert and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) ~
~ Academic Tutor for the department's teaching assistants, Department of Information Studies, UCL ~
I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher of library and information science. I have a particular expertise in teaching information description, knowledge organization and music information. Developing thinking and fostering deeper understanding are my primary aims as a teacher, and linking the "why" with the "what" is a particular goal of my cataloguing teaching. As a researcher, I am very interested in how education theories, such as Pedagogical Content Knowledge and taxonomies of learning, can be used to understand how we teach information organization. I have experience of designing teaching for the physical classroom and for an online environment.
